A plant without history that serves me well to occupy the soil and fight against adventive plants; the two young plants ordered are already installed. Thank you for your prompt response, it's a pleasant surprise to already have my order and be able to plant it now that the fine weather is coming.

Description

The Luzula pilosa, also known as spring woodrush or hairy woodrush, forms a clump of evergreen, fine, shiny and very villous foliage, with dark green color.

The small greenish-white flowers, arranged in small terminal clusters, are borne above the foliage on slender stems, whose slightly upright habit contrasts with the very flexible leaves.

An excellent shade plant, Luzula pilosa likes to grow under trees. Where nothing grows, it will find a way to live and colonize the area.

Planting and care

Plant the Luzula pilosa in a planting hole of 20 cm (8in) x 20 cm (8in) x 20 cm (8in). If your soil is heavy, mix a bit of compost with the crumbled soil, partially fill the hole, and place your bucket (after removing the pot) so that the top of the root ball of your plant is covered with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Firm the soil and water generously to eliminate air pockets. If the weather is dry, you will need to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate the establishment of your young plant.
