Our Annuals with yellow flowers. Yellow is rare in columbines, but it can be found in a few species such as Aquilegia chrysantha and its varieties 'Yellow Queen' and 'Denver Gold'. Native to the mountains of southern United States and Mexico, Aquilegia longissima is another rare species with long-spurred acidic yellow flowers, a bit delicate to grow, but it will delight collectors. The hybrid 'Songbird Series Goldfinch', with large pale yellow and cream-white corollas, is more accessible to beginners. From time to time, through natural hybridization in the garden, we also see Aquilegia vulgaris or A. caerulea with flowers more or less tinged with yellow, like the 'Snow Queen' columbine, whose white flowers are washed with pale yellow. All columbine plants are perennials appreciated for the lightness of their foliage and the grace of their spring to summer flowering. Discover also our columbine seeds to sow.
