Description

Astrantia Major Venice is a perennial suitable for any style of gardens. From June to August, numerous dark ruby coloured flowers emerge. The unique flowers are bristly. The astrantia blooms again in September. The flowers measure 5 cm (2in) in diameter and attract butterflies.

Astrantia Major Venice has deciduous foliage. At maturity, it can reach a height of 60 cm (24in). It is a very hardy perennial that originates from central and eastern Europe.

Dry the flowers to make lovely bouquets. You can grow astrantia in large rockeries, flower beds, and borders. Its incredible dark ruby colour pairs well with the pastel and acidic yellow hues of Euphorbias or Lady's Mantle.
