Description

'Pink Octopus' Campanula is a small perennial variety with flowers that have bursting petals, in 5 small carmine pink tentacles, carried at a height of 40cm (16in).

This hybrid was obtained in 2005 by cross-breeding the Campanula takesimana 'Beautiful Trust' and Campanula punctata 'Pink Chimes' and forms a rosette of fairly wide leaves from which branched stems carrying at their tips carmine pink flowers with narrow petals like tentacles emerge in June to July.

In light and humus-rich soil, Pink Octopus campanula spreads quite rapidly using its short underground stolons to form beautiful clumps.

Plant it at the edge of a border with lobelias, shrub roses, phlox, and silene schafta.
