Planting and care

Echinacea 'Hot Papaya' appreciates a sunny exposure preferably to have robust stems. It tolerates light shade. Plant it in deep and well-drained soil. However, it accepts any type of soil. It is a hardy plant that withstands drought, heat, and humidity. It even adapts when it is close to the coast or on a slope. Space the plants 40cm (16in) apart when planting. Echinacea is greedy, which is why regularly add a good fertilizer so that it can thrive fully. Cut back the stems when the flowers have faded to encourage the next flowering. Echinacea does not like to be disturbed and takes quite a while to establish itself.
