I am quite doubtful about the appearance of the 3 young plants received! I hope that they will recover and fulfill my expectations, as these are plants that I really cherish! I hope to give you a more than positive feedback.

Description

Echinacea 'Purity' is a beautiful introduction to pure white flowers, topped with a heart of orange stamens.

A close cousin of the Rudbeckia, Echinacea, also known as purple coneflower, is native to the United States. It is a perennial and very hardy, growing in meadows and therefore tolerating sun, competition from other plants, and relative drought.

In early summer, the flowers with greenish-white heads turn pure white and are topped with a heart of orange stamens. Carried by sturdy stems at 60cm (24in) in height, the flowers bloom continuously from June to early September. The abundant dark green foliage is deciduous.

Easy to grow, Echinacea 'Purity' enjoys sun, rich, fresh and well-draining soil.

Planting and care

Echinacea 'Purity' appreciates a sunny exposure preferably to have sturdy stems. It tolerates light shade. Plant it in a deep and well-drained soil. Nevertheless, it accepts any type of soil. It is a hardy plant that withstands drought, heat and humidity. It even adapts when it is close to the coast or on a slope. Distance the plants by 40cm (16in) when planting. Echinacea is greedy, so regularly add a good fertilizer for it to fully flourish. Cut back the stems when the flowers have faded to encourage the next flowering. Echinacea does not like to be disturbed and takes quite a while to establish itself.
