Very satisfied. I had already ordered 3 young plants 2 and a half years ago which are now very large. The latest one has recovered well since this summer. I highly recommend this spectacular variety. As for delivery, in my opinion, it's better to have them delivered at home to avoid an extra step for the plants.

Euphorbia characias subsp. wulfenii, or Mediterranean spurge, is a perennial with very vibrant hues. Its flowers, which bloom from April to June, are a very light yellowish green and are adorned with bracts of the same colour. The bracts contribute to diffusing the unique light that emanates from the plant. The flowering is even more impressive. The compound cymes of multiple small flowers measure 15 to 20cm (6 to 8in). The base of the stems is covered with bluish green leaves that are evergreen. This euphorbia can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F).
Â
There are many and varied euphorbias in terms of their characteristics. The common features for the characias species are: highly decorative evergreen foliage and flowering, a liking for sunny exposure, and a preference for well-drained or even dry, rocky, and even poor soil. Their long upright stems start from the base and form a rather tall bushy clump (90cm (35in) or more for subsp. wulfenii). They are covered with lanceolate leaves up to the tops surmounted by inflorescences. These are grouped in cymes at least 10cm (4in) in height and covered with numerous small cyathia (this name is mainly attributed to euphorbias). They are very delicate with collar-like bracts. Euphorbias are quite essential in mass plantings. They add volume, evergreen foliage, and brightly coloured flowers.
The only downside is that their sap is made up of an irritating and toxic latex. Always remember to handle them with gloves. Children must take care if playing near the plants.
Euphorbia characias subsp. wulfenii reveals its beauty when planted en masse. Its stems and leaves form a sculptural bluish bush, while its flowers illuminate spring with their vibrant hue. It looks wonderful alongside plants with bluish or silvery foliage and brings contrast to neighbouring pink plants.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
