Description

The Gaura forms a spreading bushy clump with slender stems carrying small lanceolate leaves.

The flowering, from July to October, takes the form of paniculate inflorescences about thirty centimetres long, with white flowers with 4 petals, fleeting, blooming in the evening.

With its long, mobile stems and low demands, it has a light appearance and can be associated in free-growing borders with Gaillardias, Asters, Verbena bonariensis or Penstemons, for example, or even with roses.

Beautiful, simple and undemanding: A perennial that has its place in every garden.

Planting and care

Install your Gauras in the sun, possibly in partial shade, in well-drained, rather moist soil. The lindheimeri are not very demanding, tolerate some drought, and are content with fairly poor soil. You can prune them to shape in early spring, and extend the flowering by cutting back the faded branches. It can also be grown in a large pot, making sure to water regularly during dry weather.
