Description
Originally from northwest Turkey to the Caucasus, northeast Greece, Helleborus Super yellow red Centre is a perennial plant with a yellow flower with a red heart that will brighten up the shaded areas of your garden in winter. It is a hardy plant that can withstand temperatures as low as -15°C (5°F) with evergreen palmate basal leaves, slightly toothed, dark green and shiny, 30 to 40 cm (12 to 16in) long, composed of 7 to 9 leaflets.
This Hellebore reaches a height of 40 cm (16in) at maturity and spreads over 30 cm (12in). From January to March, a bouquet of single, cup-shaped and inclined flowers forms, 5 to 7 cm (2 to 3in) in diameter. The Hellebore is a bushy plant which does not like to be moved once established, as it takes some time for the young shoots to bloom.
This toxic plant should be handled with caution. It is suitable as cut flowers and in beds, borders or planters,... Over time, Hellebore flowers do not wilt like the majority of other flowers, but dry up.
Each seed-sown Hellebore has a unique flower colour: slight variations in colour may exist between two plants, which is normal and unavoidable. However, if the difference is too significant and distorts the desired effect, we will refund or replace the affected plant.

Planting and care
Helleborus Orientalis grows in most soils that are rich and neutral in partial or light shade, sheltered from the wind. Plant from early autumn to spring to bloom from January to March. It thrives in deeply worked soil mixed with some organic matter. For feed, use bone meal or another organic fertilizer. In acidic soil, add a little lime. Water the plants well and add a layer of mulch 2 to 5 cm (1 to 2in) thick. Regularly remove faded leaves. Cut most of the leaves to highlight the flowers. Be sure not to plant too close together to promote their development. Hellebore does not like stagnant water, as it may cause rotting.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
