Description

The Hidden Treasure composition brings together three carefully chosen perennial plants with varied flowering and foliage in a single container. Textures and colours combine harmoniously, and the composition remains attractive from spring to autumn. The plants are easy to grow in pots or in the ground, in full sun or partial shade. Already composed and ready to plant, this trio allows you to dress up your terrace or garden for an immediate and lasting, tasteful effect.

The Hidden Treasure pot consists of:

- 1 x Euphorbia: a perennial with foliage beautifully edged in creamy white on a light green background. It flowers a very bright acidic green early in spring. The above-ground vegetation disappears in winter.

- 1 x Heuchera or coral bells with golden caramel-coloured foliage with green and bronze highlights. This perennial plant has extremely light floral spikes adorned with tiny white-pink bells in summer. The foliage persists more or less in winter.

- 1 x Coreopsis: a generous perennial with fine foliage and a very long summer flowering of heads of small bright yellow flowers with dark red hearts. The above-ground, deciduous vegetation disappears in winter.

Cultivated in the same pot, these perennial plants coexist well, each finding its place without suffocating the others. They should be repotted in a larger, wider container to enhance them on the balcony or terrace. This composition can also be planted in the ground, in full sun or partial shade, in well-drained, rich and moist soil.

Planting and care

Plant your Hidden Treasure composition in spring or early autumn, in a large container to allow the plants to reach their full potential. Use rich and light soil and water regularly. Apply universal fertilizer in spring. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded exposure. The created pot can stay outdoors over winter, as all the plants in it are hardy.

In the ground: if your soil is heavy, mix in some compost and sand and place your composition so that the top of the root ball is covered with 2-3 cm (1in) of soil. The addition of a base fertilizer will nourish your plants during the rooting period without the risk of burning. Firm the soil and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. If the weather is dry, you will need to water regularly for a few weeks to aid establishment, then if it is very dry. We recommend pruning dry leaves and stems in February-March.
