Description

Anemone x hybrida 'Mont Rose' blooms in late summer. It bears sturdy floral stems, which carry flowers with strongly ruffled raspberry-pink petals with a pearlescent white hue.

A hardy perennial plant, 'Mont Rose' blooms from mid summer to autumn. Its solid and upright floral stems reach up to 60cm (24in) in height. The flowers measure 7 to 9cm (3 to 4in) in diameter. They are raspberry-pink becoming pearly white at the end of flowering, with a cluster of golden stamens in the centre.

Similar to the variety 'Reine Charlotte', the flowers are distinguished by a more intense colour and contrast but above all, by semi-double and highly ruffled petals. The dark green foliage is deeply palmate with 5 lobes.

'Mont Rose' thrives in cool, light, and humus-bearing soil. It tolerates brief periods of drought and can withstand non-burning sun.

It spreads vigorously when grown in suitable conditions, and thrives at the base of trees, on the edge of woodlands, or at the back of borders where it forms magnificent colonies.

You can plant it alongside persicarias, cimicifugas, and perennial geraniums.

The flowers make beautiful winter bouquets. Cut the bud-bearing stems and put them in a vase. After 2 hours at room temperature, you will see white catkins appear.
