Lamium maculatum Anne Greenaway - Spotted Deadnettle

Lamium maculatum 'Anne Greenaway' bears a stump producing non-flowering running shoots, forming a dense vegetal carpet of foliage identical to that of the white nettle. The floral shoots, on the other hand, stand upright and bear flowers in clusters at their tips. It grows in all situations but prefers humus-rich soil that is moist without being too wet. It prefers partial shade.

The flowering lasts a long time, but it can be further extended if the stems are regularly cut back as soon as the flowers fade. 

Its unique dark green foliage is irregularly bordered with golden-yellow and light green spots, with a wide silver band running along the central vein.
