It was only when planting the lysimaque that I noticed it had been replaced by a spike. Having already planted one without success several years ago, I doubt its young plant. To be seen.

Description

Lysimachia ephemerum is a perennial plant that blooms from July to August, with small white star-shaped flowers, veined with mauve. They are gathered in narrow and elongated spikes. Its cup-shaped flowers measure 1cm (0.4in) and the clusters can reach 30cm (12in) in length.

It originates from the Pyrenees, Spain, and Portugal.

The bluish-green foliage of the deciduous Lysimachia ephemerum gives it the nickname willow-leaved loosestrife

This very hardy robust plant thrives by the water's edge, especially in limestone soils. Its flowers can be cut to create beautiful bouquets. Lysimachia can be grown both in flower beds and in pots. It can quickly become invasive, with a height of 1m (3ft).

Lysimachia ephemerum is a protected species. It is also a medicinal plant
