Out of the three young plants ordered, two arrived with their stems broken: what happened? I hope they will recover well. I'm not requesting their replacement, but I wanted to report the condition in which I received them.

Description

Nepeta subsessilis Laufen is a beautiful dwarf perennial with aromatic leaves and large blue-lilac flower spikes.

Also known as Catmint or Catnip, nepeta Laufen has deciduous, oval, rough, toothed, aromatic, dark green leaves, 8 to 10cm (3 to 4in) long. From July to September, short stems 35cm (14in) high bear whorled, two-lipped blue-lilac flowers, 3cm (1in) in diameter. These nectar-rich flowers attract a large number of bees and butterflies.

Nepeta subsessilis Laufen is easy to grow and likes light, moist, rich and well-drained soil in a sunny position. It tolerates dry, poor and rocky soils but will flower less abundantly. In heavy soil, add coarse sand and gravel.

Nepeta subsessilis Laufen can be used as a border plant, in rock gardens or containers. Combine it with roses for a romantic touch or with yellow-flowering perennials for a more contrasting effect.

Fun fact: Catnip acts as a sort of drug on some cats. They rub against the plant for several minutes which makes them happy for up to 2 hours. But don't worry, it will not harm them.
