The Primula 'Evie Lemon Cream F1' is part of a new line of hybrids with compact vegetation, early flowering, and large flowers with intense colours. In this 'Lemon Cream' cultivar, the corollas are a soft lemon yellow with orange near the centre. They open from January to early spring on a nicely rounded clump. It will look stunning when paired with muscari and forget-me-nots in a large pot. Primroses thrive in partial shade in a light soil, rich in compost, and slightly moist.
The Primula 'Evie Lemon Cream F1' is a herbaceous perennial plant in the primrose family, belonging to the complex hybrid group of polyanthus primroses. This lovely variety stands out for its early and bright flowering, which continues from January to March-April. The plant forms a nice clump of foliage, 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8in) high and 25 cm (10in) wide, in just a few months. It develops a more or less evergreen rosette composed of large wavy and veined leaves, dark green in colour. It produces 3-4 cm (1-2in) flowers, wide open, slightly undulate, clustered in small groups and carried by short villous peduncles. The flower stems elongate very little during flowering, giving the plant a neat appearance.
These Evie F1 primroses that bloom in winter bring colour to the garden at a time of year when colours are greatly appreciated. These new cultivar creations bring these often cultivated perennials back into the spotlight, to our great pleasure! The hybrid primrose 'Evie F1' deserves a place in the garden or on the balcony. Generous and decorative, it will pair well with early spring bulbs such as blue or white crocuses and snowdrops, for example. In border plantings or containers, this plant pairs well with its white or blue companions, as well as violets. Primroses are perfect under deciduous cover, in rockeries, border edges, and short grass meadows. The leaves and flowers are edible and can be consumed raw or cooked.

Botanical data
Primroses are planted in pots and containers or directly in the ground in finely prepared soil enriched with compost. Plant them, if possible, upon receipt, in September-October or March-April. If the intended location is not yet ready or the conditions are unfavourable for planting, you can let them grow in pots for 4 to 6 weeks.
In pots and containers, use a good compost for flowering plants (such as geranium compost) enriched with clay and slow-release fertiliser, lightweight and well-draining. The top of the plug plant should be level with the compost. Water generously at planting and during the following weeks, as plug plants can quickly dry out. However, be careful not to overwater! Make sure to use containers with drainage holes and empty the saucer 10 minutes after watering. Remember to water even during winter if it doesn't rain or if the container is placed in a sheltered spot. Do not water during freezing periods.
Very floriferous and fast-growing, primroses are hungry plants. As soon as growth resumes, in late February or early March, and throughout the flowering period, apply a liquid fertiliser for flowering plants containing iron and trace elements 1 to 2 times a week in the watering can. Remove faded flowers to encourage new blooming. Once flowering is over, potted plants can be replanted in the garden in partial shade.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
