Description

Salvia nemorosa 'Schwellenburg' is a spectacular variety that produces countless bouquets of deep purple-pink flowers throughout summer. Even when faded, the flowers remain colourful for several weeks.

The 'Schwellenburg' sage is a perfect perennial for filling borders of flower beds. It produces a mass of deep purple-pink upright flowers from June. It flowers until the end of summer, provided that the faded flower spikes are removed with shears. Tolerant of dry soil, 'Schwellenburg' likes light, rich, and well-drained soils. It likes the sun and appreciates a slight coolness in the heart of summer.

Moderately hardy, this perennial sage primarily fears winter moisture and requires good drainage in heavy soils in cold climates.

This beautiful plant can be used in a multitude of ways. We often use it in sunny flower beds, combined with blue and yellow blooms punctuated by light grasses.
