Description

Scabiosa caucasica 'Perfecta' will amaze you with its lavender-blue flowers. The most classic, and in our opinion, the most beautiful scabious with its whimsical and slightly childish elegance.

Originally from alpine regions, scabious are ideal perennials for rustic and natural-looking flower beds. They bloom continuously from June to September, attracting butterflies. They are excellent cut flowers, and also have a special place in cottage gardens.

Planting and care

Plant in a sunny spot in cooler regions and in a slightly shadier position in warmer climates. They prefer slightly chalky, well-drained soils. Water them regularly, but not excessively. They sometimes tend to decline after 2 or 3 seasons. To keep them, enrich with organic fertiliser and ensure they don't suffer from excessive moisture in winter by lightening the planting substrate with sand.
