Description

Thalictrum delavayi Splendide bears a swarm of magnificent pink lilac flowers, of an unusual size. Its abundant flowering from mid-summer to late autumn is spectacular for its large panicles of semi-double lilac flowers, reminiscent of gypsophila. It pairs beautifully with asters or dahlias, complementing their flowering gracefully.
A plant that is slow to establish, but worth the wait.

Planting and care

Thalictrum can be planted in the middle or at the back of the flowerbed, in the sun, staked on rich and well-drained soil. Do not cut the plants down to the ground after flowering, as new shoots will only appear at the end of the following spring.  Therefore, it is advisable not to cut the plant down in autumn, so as not to forget its location the following spring.  Remove faded flowers to prevent excessive self-seeding. Tip: Dare to go tall with these giant plants add structure and volumes in the garden. The tallest ones will add volume and lightness against a dark background of hedges or conifers. The medium-sized ones will add beauty to tall flowerbeds, such as those with giant dahlias.
