Bahco P51-SL Professional Hedge Shears
Bahco P51-SL Professional Hedge Shears
Bahco P51-SL Professional Hedge Shears
The Bahco - Pradines P51 long is the best professional shear on the market. As a green space artisan for 45 years, I only use this one. 10 or 15 years ago, it was heavier because its handles were made of steel (painted in red). The next version (with highly resistant aluminum handles) is the top...! The best part: its self-sharpening blades! The more you use it, the sharper it gets! It definitely deserves 5 stars, mate!

This Bahco P51-SL professional hedge shear is a high-quality model widely used in green spaces, viticulture, and topiary art. It stands out for its lightness and ergonomics! This pruning tool has two overlapping blades 25 cm (10in) long made of fully hardened steel for better resistance to wear and tear. The blades are precisely sharpened and equipped with large teeth at their base for efficient cutting of thick, green, and living branches up to 1 cm (0in) in diameter. When held flat, they allow for easy pruning through a mass of leaves and stems while restoring a regular shape to hedges and topiaries. A central locking screw maintains the alignment of its blades while its aluminium handles are covered with soft plastic grips that, along with rubber stops, absorb shocks during use and ensure a comfortable grip. This is a versatile shear, highly appreciated for its high cutting capacity and ergonomics, designed for intensive pruning work in the garden.

The manual hedge trimmer is a manual cutting tool that somewhat resembles a large pair of scissors with long overlapping blades and two long handles. It is primarily used for cutting flexible, green, and not too thick living stems and branches. It is operated by holding the blades horizontally or vertically against the surface to be pruned and opening and closing the handles with both hands in a swift motion. The shear is mainly used for hedge maintenance but can also be used for rough trimming of grasses, shrubs, small shrubby or arborescent subjects with compact branches, which will help densify their vegetation. For very large areas to be pruned, a mechanised hedge trimmer is recommended.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
