Description

Rosa 'Jasmina' is a floriferous, repeat-flowering climbing variety that has received the fragrance medal. The roses are full and form a beautiful cup of soft pink petals with purple highlights. This rose emits a strong fragrance that adds to the romance of its flowering. It holds the ADR label.

This rose can be trained to climb and adorn a trellis or pergola. It is recommended for very sunny locations. It should be planted in rich, moist, and well-drained soil.

Rosa 'Jasmina' is a Kordes creation.

ADR is the label of the German Rose Breeders Association. It is only granted to varieties that have passed the strictest controls in the world. The plants are tested simultaneously for several years at 10 different locations, in various soil and climate conditions. The tests focus on hardiness, perennial character, and flowering without the use of any pesticide.

Planting and care

Plant in a sunny or partially shaded location, where its flowers will be sheltered from the strong midday sun. Roses are tolerant but do not like excessive limestone. They will adapt to any garden if the soil is well-worked and rich enough. If you notice stained or powdery mildew-affected leaves, remove them immediately. This rose may require a preventive treatment with sulphur in spring, which is very effective against fungal diseases. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and add an amendment, such as dried blood or dehydrated horn, at the bottom of the planting hole. Water thoroughly after planting to eliminate air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate rooting.

'Jasmina' is repeat-flowering rose. Regularly remove the faded blooms to encourage new flowers to form.

Roses are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this does not affect their development. These spots are not harmful to the rose and are a natural phenomenon.

Care

Pruning instructions In late winter, remove the oldest stems near the stump, then balance the rose by cutting short and long branches. Remove dead wood and lightly aerate the heart of the rose. For pruning, choose an eye that points outward and cut just above it at an angle. Train your roses as they grow to ensure coverage of your support.
