Floraison de juin - image 2

Thank you to Laeticia for the preparation of the order and the shipping service, the bare-root rose received seems healthy to me. Planted in the ground, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... (or not?)." Analyse et correction du texte traduit : - La traduction est globalement correcte, respectant le sens et le ton du texte original. - Cependant, il y a une faute de frappe dans la phrase "the shipping service", où le mot "and" est remplacé par un point d'interrogation. - La phrase "Planted in the ground" pourrait être reformulée pour être plus fluide, par exemple en utilisant "Once planted in the ground". - La dernière partie de la phrase "I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... (or not?)" semble incomplète et manque de clarté. Il serait préférable de reformuler cette partie pour exprimer clairement l'incertitude, par exemple en disant "I am now patiently waiting to see if it will take root or not.

Rosa The Mayflower is undoubtedly one of the best creations from the famous breeder David Austin. Everything about this variety is admirable: the robustness and vigour of the bush, its natural resistance to diseases, the exceptional abundance of its pink double flowers, the old rose fragrance, and the elegance of its foliage. It blooms continuously from June to October, with beautiful roses on spotless green leaves. It is an excellent rose to display in the garden.
The Mayflower is part of a group of hybrids created by David Austin that carry the genes of old roses. Its habit is bushy, well-branched, rather upright but natural, and it grows rapidly and regularly. At maturity, it will reach between 1.2 to 1.5m (4 to 5ft) in height with a spread of 1.2m (4ft). The flowering is continuous from June until October. At the end of the young branches, double flowers grouped in small bouquets are born, 8 to 9cm (3 to 4in) wide. These are cups composed of numerous slightly crumpled petals. Their colour is a bright medium pink, which is lighter on the periphery of the corolla and warmer in the centre. These flowers exude an old rose fragrance with sweet, fruity, and powdery notes, with a light to medium intensity depending on the time and ambient temperature. The matte green foliage, composed of 5 to 7 small leaflets, is finer than that of many English varieties. It perfectly resists rose diseases. This rose is a deciduous shrub that loses its leaves in late autumn.
Plant The Mayflower in groups of 3 for a beautiful display. Plant a few clumps of blue or violet salvias, nepeta, bellflowers, or perennial Geranium 'Rozanne' in front of the bed. Like other English roses, it can be planted in a bed of flowering shrubs, perennials, or annuals with light flowering. This reliable rose can be integrated into a small hedge, used as a standalone plant in a lawn, or border a patio. Its romantic roses look sublime in a vase.
Bred by David Austin in 2001.

Botanical data
Plant The Mayflower in a sunny position. English roses are tolerant, but they don't like excessive limestone or overly acidic soils. They will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked and rich enough. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and add fertiliser to the bottom of the planting hole (dried blood or dehydrated horn, for example). Water generously after planting to remove any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Provide your rose with special rose fertiliser that stimulates flowering.
Pruning bushy English roses is essential for flowering. Shorten the branches to two or three buds above the ground in spring, choosing an outward-facing bud for a more elegant habit. Remove dead wood and unsightly branches. Pruning should be done at an angle above a bud.
Regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new blooms.
Roses are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this will not hinder their development. These spots are a natural phenomenon and will not harm the rose.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
