Description
The 'Royal Jubilee' English rose, of the English alba type, produces very large peony pink or intense pink flowers, well-scented, in the shape of very deep cups, almost spherical, elegantly carried by slim and undulating stems that make up the branches of a vigorous, floriferous and resistant bush.
This variety possesses many of the common characteristics of rosa alba. This tall bush, reaching a height of 1.50 m (5ft) with a spread of 1 m (3ft), shows an upright, flexible habit and sinuous branches, sometimes trailing, covered with healthy dark green foliage that perfectly enhances the flowering. Its flowers are magnificent, reaching a diameter of 10 cm (4in), in the shape of a deep calyx, with highly incurved petals that barely reveal a heart of golden stamens. The flowers exhale a rich and fruity fragrance with a hint of blackcurrant. This rose claims excellent resistance, vigour and ability to repeat flower.
The 'Royal Jubilee' rose undeniably possesses great elegance. It allows for beautiful associations with annual or perennial plants, in a harmonious or contrasting style, in a modern and minimalist inspired garden or conversely exuberant. As companion plants, you can choose tall perennials (foxgloves, linarias, panicle phlox, monkshoods, salvias) or ground-hugging ones (mulleins, Cotoneaster dammeri), airy ones (gauras, paniculate baby's breath) or architectural ones (grasses), climbing plants (clematis, sweet peas) or trailing ones (purple morning glories, petunias) and thus create endlessly varied scenes and encourage biodiversity.
Obtained by David Austin in 2012.
About Rosa Alba:
The "white rose" was already mentioned in Greek and Roman cultures. Rosa Alba was born from a spontaneous crossbreeding between Rosa Canina (the dog rose of our fields and woodlands) and the damask rose, a hybrid. Alba roses come in shades of white, pink, and pale pink. Almost all of them are pleasantly scented. They bloom from June until the end of July. The vegetative growth is often trailing. These roses thrive in full sun or partial shade and difficult conditions. They are extremely hardy.

Planting and care
Plant your English Rose 'Royal Jubilee' in a location with ample sunlight or lightly shaded. English roses are tolerant to different soil types but do not thrive in soil with excessive limestone. These roses can grow in any garden if the soil is well-worked, not too heavy, and rich enough. To plant your rose, crumble the soil and add an amendment, such as blood, fish and bone, to the bottom of the planting hole. After planting, water generously to remove any pockets of air, and regularly for the first few weeks to help with rooting.
Pruning English roses is essential for better flowering. At the end of winter, in February-March, shorten the branches to 3-5 buds above the ground (at the lowest), choosing an outward-facing bud for a more elegant look. While pruning, remove any dead wood and unsightly branches. Make sure to prune at a slant above a bud. As the flowers bloom, remove faded flowers to stimulate the development of other buds.
Roses often have stains or may look unsightly towards the end of summer. However, this is not a problem for their development. These stains are natural and do not harm the rose.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
