Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose received has very small branches but appears healthy to me. Planted in the ground, I am now cautiously awaiting spring growth (or not)...Note: received with its variety label (important for identifying the rose in all seasons).

Planting and care

To plant your potted rose, work the soil to a depth of 25 cm (10in), crumble the soil well, and place a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Once removed from its pot, position your plant and cover the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate air pockets. During dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Also, remember to provide your rose with special rose fertilizer that stimulates flowering in plants.

Roses are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their development. These spots are not harmful to the rose; they are a natural phenomenon.
