Description
The 'Rosarium Uetersen' is a fantastic German creation that combines many qualities. It is one of the few roses that will not disappoint in a humid and harsh climate. Its long flowering, in generous clusters of beautiful, extremely double flowers, is an enchantment that lasts almost the entire season. Even when weighed down by rain, each rose proudly displays an intense coral-coloured bloom. Over time, they take on a silvery hue that complements their light and fresh scent of wild rose. This vigorous and bushy shrub, magnificent as a background plant, can also be trained to climb on a romantic arch, depending on one's desires and available space.
The 'Rosarium Uetersen' or 'Kortersen' also bears the lovely name 'Seminole Wind', which evokes its abundant flowering of a very warm Indian pink. It is a beautiful creation by the German rose breeder Kordes, dating back to 1977. It belongs to the floribunda rose category. This vigorous variety quickly forms a climbing bush with branches exceeding 3 metres (10 feet) in length. If left untrained, it has a wide and sprawling habit, supported by arched branches, and forms a mass of 1.5 metres (5 feet) with a spread of 2 metres (7 feet). It can also be pruned shorter, as it tolerates pruning very well. Its foliage is resistant to diseases and has a bright green colour. It blooms abundantly from June until the first frost. Its corollas, resembling old-fashioned roses, are 11 cm (4in) wide and truly double with a slightly tousled appearance, composed of over 100 imbricated petals! They are gathered in long bouquets that can contain up to 25 flowers. Their colour is a warm pink, with coral reflections, fading into a lovely silvery old rose shade before fading. These roses have excellent resistance to rain, as well as to the sun. Their scent is fresh and light, very pleasant.
"Rosarium Uetersen" is a type of rose plant that is named after a famous German rose garden. This plant is almost perfect for decorating gates, fences, and small pergolas. It has a vigorous growth that also allows it to thrive without support in a flowering hedge alongside a clematis called "Prince Charles". Additionally, it spreads out gracefully on a lawn or can be planted freely behind a formal flower bed. It also makes an ideal companion for small tree stumps that it can revive or for sheds to which it adds a charming touch. The large flower clusters can be cut for a vase to create a beautiful bouquet.

Planting and care
The 'Rosarium Uetersen' rose adapts to any soil, as long as the planting is well taken care of, with no lack of water or nutrients for a good start. Plant it in well-worked ordinary soil, enriched with well-rotted compost, and well-drained, in a sunny location (avoid a south-facing wall) to make it more floriferous. Plant it in autumn, never when it freezes. Highly hardy, this rose can withstand temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F). If you plant a climbing or rambling rose next to a living tree, the rose's root system will compete with the already well-established tree. Here's a trick to control watering: plant the rose in a large container with a perforated bottom at the tree's base. The tree's roots will not penetrate the container for at least a year. Remove the container after 1 year, for example, by cutting one side without disturbing the rose's root system. By then, the rose will have had time to develop its root system and be more resistant deeply.
Roses may appear stained or unsightly at the end of summer. However, it is a natural phenomenon that doesn't harm their development.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
