Description

Rosa Generosa Monique Bouygues combines the charm and fragrance of old roses with the long-lasting flowering of modern roses.

This recent creation is disease-resistant and completely hardy, flowering from May until the first frost. The repeat flowering is abundant. These full and fragrant flowers have fresh pink petals generously opening to reveal a beautiful slightly amber heart.

For an enchanted and timeless garden, Generosa rose bushes are a great asset. Place the Monique Bouygues rose bush near pathways or patios to enjoy its fragrance.

Planting and care

Choose a sunny position for your Generosa Monique Bouygues rose (but be careful of the burning rays of midday). Loosen the soil, as roses prefer well-drained and humus-rich soil. They prefer soil with a neutral pH, but will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well-prepared and sufficiently fertile. Work the soil to a depth of 25 cm, crumble the soil well, and place an amendment such as bonemeal at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate air pockets. During dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to encourage root growth. Pruning your roses helps maintain a compact and elegant habit from year to year. In March, before the buds start to grow, reduce your rose to 3 or 6 buds above the ground, cutting at a slant above an outward-facing bud. Remove dead or crossing branches. You can also deadhead the flowers throughout the summer to promote the development of new buds.

Roses are often spotted or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their development. These spots are not harmful to the rose; it is a natural phenomenon.
