Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the rose bush I received appears healthy. Planted near the 'Diamond Jubilee' variety, I am now patiently awaiting its growth... or not?

Description

The 'Courage' Bush Rose is a hybrid tea variety that is particularly elegant and highly disease-resistant like most of the creations from German rose breeder Kordes. On a vigorous but compact bush, beautifully formed roses bloom from June to October. These roses are resistant to rain and display a soft creamy orange colour, perfectly complemented by the dark green foliage. They exude a delicate fragrance typical of tea roses. It will be perfect in a small flowerbed or a vase surrounded by blue or white flowers.

The 'Courage' Rose was introduced in 2019 by Kordes. It is part of the Eleganza collection, which brings together hybrid tea varieties recognizable by the beautiful turbinate shape of their flowers. It forms an upright bush, reaching a height of 90 cm (35in) to 1 m (3ft) with a spread of 50 cm (20in), and it blooms repeatedly. Its double flowers are 10 to 12 cm (4 to 5in) wide and particularly long-lasting in a vase. The petals are tightly packed and slightly turned outward. Their colour changes from light apricot to cream over time, with the centre of the flower warmed by a more orange hue. The robust branches bear abundant, healthy foliage that is dark red when young and becomes dark green. It has excellent disease resistance. The flowers are solitary and carried by long, sturdy stems.

With its exceptionally elegant flowering, this 'Courage' hybrid tea rose deserves an equally graceful setting and a place not far from the house. Some light-flowering perennial plants (Autumn Asters, foxgloves, penstemons), and grasses are ideal for enhancing its beauty and accompanying it late in the season. For example, pair it with Rozanne geraniums or Pink Penny geraniums, Nepeta Walker's Low, and blue or white campanulas. It will also make a fine display as a solitary plant or in a large pot on your terrace or balcony. Its flowers make splendid bouquets alongside peonies and white lilacs.

Kordes breeding - 2019.

Planting and care

Planting your rose requires some preparation. Begin by working the soil to a depth of 40 cubic cm and adding a base amendment like blood, fish, and bone to the bottom of the planting hole. Remove the plant from its pot and position it by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Refill the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. It's essential to water the rose regularly for a few weeks during dry weather to help the roots grow. Use a special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering. Choose a sunny location or partial shade to plant your rose in hot regions.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
