I recommended this rose because I planted an identical one last year and the result is excellent. The young plant is in perfect health, it produces very robust roses in bunches and the flowering lasts until very late in the season. The effect is very pleasing in my slightly wild and romantic flowerbed." Analyse de la traduction : "I recommended this rose because I planted an identical one last year and the result is excellent. Description

Rosa Sweet Honey is a charming and easy-to-care-for rose bush with a delightful colour and excellent disease resistance. Its double roses are medium-sized but plump and beautifully turned, with a tender and delicious honey-pink yellow colour. They are delicately scented. They bloom in clusters from June to October, beautifully complemented by dark and glossy foliage that remains decorative throughout the season. Excellent in every way, this variety works wonders in flower beds, in a low and informal hedge, or in a large pot on a sunny patio. Its roses are sublime in bouquets.

Rosa Sweet Honey is a creation from the German rosarian Kordes, introduced to the market in 2015. It has been named in several international competitions, received the ADR label in 2015, and the ROTY in England in 2010. This rose was elected Rose of the Year in 2020 by the Royal Horticultural Society. It belongs to both the Floribunda and Hybrid Tea categories. It is a repeat-flowering rose and produces turbinate-shaped flowers, arranged in a regular manner. They are grouped in clusters of 12 to 15 buds. The bush has an upright habit. It is particularly dense and well-branched, quickly reaching 80 to 90cm (32 to 35in) in height and 70 to 80cm (28 to 32in) in width. Its roses measure 5 to 6cm (2in) in width and are composed of more than 50 thick petals in a pale yellow-pink to salmon colour. Each flower emits a very light fragrance. The foliage is divided into dark green leaflets, which are dense and resistant to diseases. The plant loses its leaves in winter.

This enchanting bush is perfect for flower beds, planted in groups of 3 specimens. It can be paired with many perennial or annual plants with light flowering, such as lady's mantle, bellflowers, perennial geraniums, love-in-a-mist, or catmints. It is not too sensitive to root competition, meaning it can be combined in a flower bed with modest-sized flowering shrubs (deutzias, abelias). Also consider pairing it with small-sized clematis with purple, blue, or white flowers.

Planting and care

Plant in a sunny or partially-shaded location. Floribunda roses are tolerant, but do not like excessive limestone. They will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked, not too heavy, and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and add fertiliser to the bottom of the planting hole (dried blood or dehydrated horn, for example). Water generously after planting to remove any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth.

Pruning is essential for flowering. At the end of winter, shorten the branches to 3-5 eyes above the ground (at the lowest), choosing an eye facing outwards for a more elegant habit. Remove dead wood and unsightly branches. Prune at an angle above an eye.

Regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new blooms.

Roses are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this will not hinder their development. These spots are a natural phenomenon and will not harm the rose.
