Thank you to Jenny for the order preparation and shipping service, the bare-root rose received appears healthy to me, however the root system is ridiculously small... Planted near the "Bernadette Lafont" rose, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... (or not?)

Rosa Yves Piaget is a modern hybrid tea rose appreciated by connoisseurs for its robustness and vintage-style flowering. This bush produces large peony-like flowers with around 80 dentate petals, in a silvery lilac-pink colour close to light Neyron pink, surrounded by a powerful fragrance worthy of the May rose. This repeat-flowering variety from the Romantica series is highly resistant to diseases. It has been awarded numerous times, especially for its fragrance, at Bagatelle. A high-class rose that is generous, robust, and unique. It is perfect for adding colour and scent to flower beds, as well as bouquets.
Â
Rosa Yves Piaget 'Meivido' is a modern bush rose with large flowers obtained by Marie Louise Meilland in 1983. This excellent variety has received 8 international awards, including the gold medal in Geneva and Le Roeulx, and the Perfume Cup at Bagatelle. It is part of the Romantica series.
It has a bushy and upright habit, reaching about 85cm (33in) in height and 50 to 60cm (20 to 24in) in width at maturity. It has a rapid growth rate. It produces well-branched thorny stems. The elegant foliage is bronze at budburst, then turns semi-matte dark green. It is highly resistant to diseases. Throughout summer, the plant continuously produces large 15cm (6in) diameter flowers, with a round cup-like shape reminiscent of certain peonies. They are composed of 80 curiously dentate petals, in a somewhat indefinable colour, intermediate between pink and mauve. They are solitary, borne at the end of long shoots from the current year or by those that emerge from 2-year-old stems. The rose will flower continuously if faded blooms are regularly removed. The repeat-flowering is distinguished by an enchanting rose fragrance, both sweet and fruity, with a hint of lemon. Somewhat tender, this rose prefers mild regions and appreciates light winter protection in cold regions.
Â
Rosa Yves Piaget's flower is unique, both in its colour and fragrance. It deserves a place near the house, on a patio, or near a pathway, in front of taller shrubs. Light-flowering perennial plants (autumn asters, foxgloves, penstemons), grasses, and nepetas, are ideal for enhancing its beauty and accompanying it late in the season. For example, pair it with Geranium 'Rozanne', G. 'Pink Cloud', G. grandiflorum, panicum, Nepeta 'Walker's Low', and campanulas. It will also look great when planted alone, for example in groups of 3, as well as in a large pot on a patio or balcony. Its flowers make beautiful romantic bouquets, alongside deep pink peonies and mauve or white lilacs. They last for 5 to 6 days in a vase.

Botanical data
Plant in a sunny or partially shaded location. Modern roses are tolerant, but do not like excessive limestone. They will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked, not too heavy, and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and add fertiliser to the bottom of the planting hole (dried blood or dehydrated horn, for example). Water generously after planting to remove any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root development.
Roses are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this will not hinder their development. These spots are a natural phenomenon and will not harm the rose.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
