Description

The 'Iceberg' or 'Snow Fairy' rose produces medium-sized flowers with a bright white colour. They are full and bloom in magnificent bouquets. The plant has vigorous, bushy growth and a wide, upright habit. It is very robust and has an inexhaustible flowering. Kordes and Sons 1958 breeding. Used for hedging and flower beds.

ADR is the label of the German Federation of Rose Breeders. The ADR designation is only awarded to varieties that have passed the strictest controls in the world. The plants are simultaneously tested at 10 different locations, in various soil and climate conditions, for several years. The tests focus on hardiness, perennial character, and flowering without using any pesticides.

The creeping ceanothus, with its azure blue colour, is an ideal companion.

Planting and care

When planting your potted rose, prepare the soil by crumbling it well. Add a base amendment like blood, fish and bone at the bottom of the hole. Remove the plant from its pot and position it in the hole. Cover the top of the root ball with 3 centimetres (1 inch) of soil and fill the hole. Water generously to remove any air pockets. Water regularly during dry weather for the first few weeks to help the roots grow. Use special rose fertiliser to encourage growth and abundant flowering. Bend and tie the branches regularly to promote lateral shoots that produce beautiful bouquets. This technique is worth the effort.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
