Description

The Heckenzauber 'LandLust' Rose is a bush rose with clustered, vigorous, highly floriferous, and highly disease-resistant flowers. It offers a bicolour impression with its soft yellow tones and deeper pink coming together to deliver a beautiful flower full of romance. Its medium-sized, double, and light flowers are also repeat-flowering. They bloom abundantly from May to October on dense and glossy foliage. This rose has won several awards. It enlivens flowerbeds for long months, with its flowers as soft as they are vibrant, composing the most charming bouquets.

The LandLust® Rose forms a dense bush with thorny stems reaching a height of 1.20m (4ft) and a width of 80cm (32in) in a few years. It is highly branched, vigorous, yet flexible, and covered with very healthy foliage, with fairly wide leaflets that are dark green and shiny. Its flowering is early and long-lasting, from May to October. This shrub renews itself in successive waves throughout the summer with its wide corollas measuring 8 to 10cm (3 to 4in), semi-double to double, with 26 to 40 petals, gathered in clusters of 5 to 7 flowers. The tightly closed buds open into round, flat and fully open cups, producing roses with warm and pastel shades, blending soft yellow and deeper pink around a soft yellow heart. Their fragrance is light to moderate. This hardy and perfectly healthy variety is unsuitable for hot and dry conditions.

Floribunda roses allow for beautiful small hedges planted in a mix along the terrace or small shrub flowerbeds. For example, they can be combined with abelias, nandinas, or caryopteris. In a romantic flowerbed, they are good companions for perennials such as paniculate phlox and tall gypsophila. Tall, vigorous, and generous, LandLust is an interesting variety for flowerbeds in all gardens, even small ones, considering the duration of its flowering. Like all roses, it looks stunning when mixed with easy-to-grow perennials such as perennial geraniums, catnips, or asters.

Planting and care

Plant the 'Landlust' floribunda rose from November to March in ordinary, well-loosened and drained soil. Roses prefer clayey soils, rather heavy than light. In soil that is too sandy, too compact or too dry in summer, it is preferable to bury compost or well-rotted manure at the bottom of the planting hole. However, this rose does not tolerate waterlogged soils in winter. Plant it in a sunny location, preferably in partial shade. Roses are hungry plants, so rose fertiliser will be beneficial at the start of growth, given regularly throughout the flowering period.

Roses may appear stained or unsightly at the end of summer. However, it is a natural phenomenon that doesn't harm their development.

Care

Pruning instructions To encourage new growth, it is recommended to regularly remove faded flowers. Floribundas, which are rose bushes that produce many flowers, are generally more vigorous than varieties with large flowers. Therefore, in late winter, it is recommended to prune the stems to about a quarter of their length, from 4 to 6 buds from the base of the stem. Always prune above an outward-facing bud to encourage bushy growth and prevent the branches from becoming tangled in the centre of the plant.
