The rose bush arrived in good condition even though the packaging was too large for the size of the bush, it was moving around inside. Apart from the packaging, it is perfect!

The 'Leonardo Da Vinci' Rose is a modern rose, endowed with all the qualities of ancient roses and a wildly romantic charm. Throughout the summer, until October, it tirelessly produces generous bouquets of very doubled roses, shaped in quarters, of a pure Bengal rose, pleasantly fragrant. It is a floribunda with healthy foliage and resistant to bad weather, undisturbed by rain. It is at ease in all gardens. Without a doubt, it is a safe bet that will bring joy to many gardeners.
The Rosa x floribunda 'Leonardo Da Vinci' is one of the masterpieces created by the rosarian Meilland, obtained in 1994. The floribunda are cultivars with bouquet-like flowers, obtained by hybridisation of polyantha roses and tea roses. 'Leonardo Da Vinci' forms a small bush of 70 to 85 cm in all directions, very ramified, vigorous but flexible, and covered with very healthy, slightly glossy dark green foliage. Its flowering is remarkably long, lasting 5 to 6 months. This bush renews in successive waves throughout the summer, its very double corollas of 8 cm (3in) in diameter, gathered in terminal bouquets. The tightly closed buds open into round and turbinate flowers, then reveal roses with a slightly more nonchalant appearance. The exact shade of the flowers is a pure Bengal rose, bright and perfectly uniform.
Floribunda roses allow for beautiful small hedges, planted mixed along the edge of the terrace or in beds of moderately sized bushes. Combine them with abelias, nandinas, or caryopteris, for example. They are good companions for panicle phlox and tall baby's breath. The modest size of 'Leonardo Da Vinci' makes it an interesting variety for growing in large pots.

Botanical data
Plant the floribunda rose 'Leonardo Da Vinci'Â from November to March, in ordinary, well-loosened and free-draining soil. Roses prefer clayey soils, rather heavy than light. In soil that is too sandy, too compact or too dry in summer, it is preferable to bury compost, decomposed manure or leaf-mould at the bottom of the planting hole. However, this rose dreads waterlogged soils in winter. Place it in a sunny position, at most in partial shade. Roses are greedy plants, a specific rose fertiliser application will be beneficial when the foliage emerges, then regularly during the entire flowering period.Â
To encourage re-blooming, regularly remove faded flowers. Floribunda rose varieties are more vigorous and floriferous than large-flowered rose varieties. Therefore, the stems should be pruned to about a quarter of their length (4 to 6 buds from the base of the stem) at the end of winter. Always prune above an outward-facing bud, so that the bush thickens and the branches do not become tangled in the centre of the shrub.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
