Floraison de juin - image 2

Thanks to the people (? for order preparation & quality control and Noëlla from the shipping department), the bare-root standard rose received appears to be healthy. Planted close to varieties such as Caprice de Meilland, Folie de Bagatelle, Michèle Meilland, Sweet Eureka, Pullman Orient Express, Michelangelo, and many others... I am now awaiting spring growth... (or not?). Note: Received with the variety label (essential for identifying the rose in all seasons). The opinion of an amateur who has successfully planted over 850 different varieties of roses in their garden.

The 'Landora' Standard Rose will charm with its beautiful weeping habit and sunny flowering. It is adorned with large roses, perfectly turbinate, of an intense lemon yellow, whose colour remains dazzling at all stages of their blooming, from bud to deflowering. This perpetual variety blooms until the frosts in successive waves and its roses are perfectly highlighted by a beautiful dark green foliage, shiny and resistant to diseases. Remarkably ornamental when placed in isolation, this rose provides very beautiful flowers for bouquets.
Standard roses are created by grafting a climbing rose variety, such as Landora, onto a different rose stem, such as Rosa canina, R. laxa, or R. multiflora, which is upright and single. The graft is performed at a height of 90-100 cm (35-39 inches) from the ground. In regions with very cold temperatures, protecting the rootstock during winter can be helpful.
'Landora' or 'Clinora' is originally a yellow climbing rose part of the complex family of tea hybrids, also called large-flowered roses. It is a creation by Nirp International. Grafted on a stem, this rose has a characteristic weeping habit. Its stems are flexible and thorny. The young shoots and young leaves of this variety are copper red. The adult foliage is shiny, dark green, and exceptionally healthy. It perfectly enhances the yellow hue of the flowers. This rose blooms from May-June to October, abundantly if it does not lack water or nutrients. Its large 12cm (5in) wide roses are composed of 40 lemon yellow petals, slightly fading at the periphery of the flowers. They are lightly scented. The plant is leafless in winter.
The 'Landora' Standard Rose is stunning when placed in isolation, in the centre of a bed, along a pathway, or in a container on a terrace. It allows for creating sumptuous decorations throughout the summer, requiring little maintenance except for regular watering in summer during hot weather and prolonged drought. Choose white ground cover roses, perennial geraniums, delphiniums, foxgloves, catmints, and tall baby's breath to accompany it. Place at its base a ground cover such as sweet alyssum or common lady's mantle. Compose luxurious bouquets for the house by combining roses with white or orange lilies.

Botanical data
Planting your rose requires some preparation. Begin by working the soil to a depth of 40 cubic cm and adding a base amendment like blood, fish, and bone to the bottom of the planting hole. Remove the plant from its pot and position it by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Refill the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. It's essential to water the rose regularly for a few weeks during dry weather to help the roots grow. Use a special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering. Choose a sunny location or partial shade to plant your rose in hot regions.
If you live in an area with very cold winters, protect the graft of standard roses (the "trunk") by wrapping it with a thick winter cover.
Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
