The 'Mythique' Standard Rose or 'Tan04603' is an extraordinary modern variety, full of charm and easy to maintain. The plant produces bouquets of beautiful double roses displaying a refined and luminous palette of yellow to orange tones, which exude a very pleasant light fragrance with notes of honey and lemon. This flowering is repeated for several months on abundant foliage of a beautiful, shiny green colour, immune to diseases. With its magnificent tree-like habit, this stem rose deserves a prime location in the garden or a large pot on the terrace.
Stem roses are a type of rose that is created through a process called grafting. This involves taking a bush rose, such as Mythique, and attaching it to an upright stem that belongs to a different type of rose, such as Rosa canina, R. laxa or R. multiflora. The graft is done at the top of the stem. In regions with very cold weather, it may be necessary to protect the rootstock of the rose during the winter.
The 'Mythique' Rose is a beautiful German Tantau creation dating back to 2010. It has received numerous awards in international competitions: Gold Rose, 1st prize and journalists' prize in Paris in 2011, Gold Medal in Monza in 2011, Gold Rose and Gold Medal in Baden-Baden in 2011, Audience Award and certificate in The Hague in 2011... This variety is classified as part of the floribunda rose family, which produces flowers clustered in clusters. Grafted onto a stem, it exhibits a characteristic habit, with a slender and vertical "trunk" carrying a large globular crown. Its thorny stems bear shiny, well-furnished foliage divided into small, tough, and toothed leaflets. The young shoots are red to bronze in colour. Its flowering is abundant and regular from May-June until October-November if regularly pruned and provided with sufficient water. The double flowers are gathered in clusters of 3 to 5 units, 7 to 8 cm (3in) wide, composed of about thirty slightly fringed petals. The tightly closed buds open into slightly turbinate cups. The colour of the flowers evolves from dark yellow-orange to salmon, then to a paler yellow, creating a delightful range of soft and warm tones within each bouquet of flowers. The fragrance in this rose is rather light but extraordinary. The plant is bare of leaves in winter.
This 'Mythique' Standard Rose is a magnificent specimen to be placed at the centre of a bed of light perennials, along a pathway, near the terrace, in isolation in a well-kept small garden, or in a large pot on the balcony. It's yellow-to-salmon colour pairs well with white, orange, blue, or mauve flowers. For example, one can plant nepetas, chamomiles, perennial salvias, lavenders, love-in-a-mist, or tall baby's breath alongside it. A ground cover composed of a silver basket or a lady's mantle will perfectly enhance its beauty.Â

Botanical data
Rose bushes need sunlight for 4-5 hours daily, but protecting them from the strong sun and wind is best. They grow best in loose, permeable soil that is rich in humus. The soil should be well-cultivated and rich enough, but they can also grow in any soil.Â
If you're planting them in a pot, loosen the soil to a depth of 10 inches and add a base amendment like blood, fish and bone at the bottom of the planting hole. Position the plant and cover the top of the root ball with 1 inch of soil. Fill in the hole, press down the soil, and water generously to eliminate air pockets. Water regularly during dry weather for a few weeks to help the roots develop. Use special rose fertilisers to promote flowering.
In areas with harsh winters, covering the grafting branch of standard roses (also known as the "trunk") with a thick winter veil is recommended to protect it.
Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
