Description

The Dry Terrain Lawn TURFLINE is a professional-quality blend of robust and low-maintenance grasses. It allows for the establishment of a heat and drought-resistant short grass meadow that requires no watering and minimal upkeep. The turf remains green in winter, as well as in summer if the soil is not excessively dry. Naturally hardy, this Dry Terrain blend can be used on all types of well-prepared soils, including clay and heavy soils. The seeds are sown in March-April or early autumn, broadcast in the sun, in well-worked and loosened soil. 1 kg covers up to 25 m².

Composition:

  • 35% tall fescue (variety 1).
  • 30% tall fescue (variety 2).
  • 20% perennial ryegrass.
  • 15% Quick Action® ryegrass.

The Quick Action® tetraploid ryegrass is a grass that establishes quickly in any season, requires little maintenance, shows exceptional tolerance to various stresses, and resists trampling well.

When to sow?: between March and October, with an optimal period in March, April, September, and October.

Sowing rate: 30 to 40 g/m².

Usage and dosage:

  • 1 kg, to cover 25 m² for new lawns or 35 m² for overseeding.
  • 2.5 kg, to cover 60 m² for new lawns or 80 m² for overseeding.

Note: in our hottest and driest regions, it is almost impossible to maintain a short grass meadow that stays green in summer without any watering. Without watering, it will often take on a characteristic "straw mat" appearance. However, it will quickly green up again with the return of rain.

Planting and care

Sowing:

Sow directly in place, in March-April (sowing in September-October in hot and dry climate), in well-worked soil, free from weeds, refined and raked. Sow broadcast on the soil surface then lightly rake to cover the seeds. Optionally, roll to ensure the seeds adhere well to the soil. Water regularly with a fine spray to keep the soil slightly moist until germination if it does not rain.
