Description

The beauty of Buddleia 'Miss Ruby', it is undoubtedly the colour of its flowers that is most remarkable. A bright pink of beautiful brilliance, almost incandescent, a unique achievement in this genus.

This bush with a compact habit blooms continuously from June to autumn. Very easy to grow, it adapts to any soil and tolerates partial shade. It is hardy with a small mulch in the first years.

In the ground, plant it alone or in a bed with perennials and bushes of different heights. Its limited pruning also allows you to grow it in a pot or even in a container. Its slightly silvery foliage will create some interesting light effects.

Buddleias are called butterfly bushes because their flowers produce nectar that butterflies love. 'Miss Ruby' has won all the votes since its appearance and has received the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Garden Merit Award.

Care

Pruning instructions The bush only requires a single pruning after the flowering. However, every 2 to 3 years, it is good to cut back the branches to maintain a compact habit and prevent the bush from "opening up". In late winter, around March or April, remove half or even two-thirds of the branches and cut off all dead wood. Buddleias flower on the current year's wood, so you won't risk removing the upcoming flowers.
