Hamamelis intermedia Arnold Promise - Witch Hazel

The Hamamelis (x) intermedia 'Arnold Promise' is a deciduous bush known as witch hazel for its remarkable change in foliage colour in autumn and its vibrant yellow winter flowering.

The 'Arnold Promise' witch hazel has a rounded habit. At maturity, this bush reaches 4 m (13 ft) in width and height. It has broad, ovate leaves measuring 8 to 12 cm (4.7 in). In summer, its foliage is light green. In autumn, it will change to a bright yellow with a red fringe on the top of the leaf. The Hamamelis intermedia 'Arnold Promise' flowering will brighten up your winter during January and February by producing bright yellow flowers in clusters.

This bush will thrive in a humus-rich, light, fresh and deep acidic soil. Bright exposure is ideal, but it will tolerate partial shade.
