Plant ordered in May, arrived in good condition, no issues. I eagerly awaited the blooming of these beautiful flowers, but like other customers before me, I did not receive the correct variety of Hibiscus – young plants with double white flowers and a red centre.

Description

Hibiscus syriacus French Cabaret®, also known as Tree Mallow or Hollyhock, is a small bush with an original and remarkable flowering. The double flowers, delicately crumpled, are a beautiful pale pink with spots of deep pink here and there. The flowers appear from June and continue until the end of summer.

Completely hardy, the French Cabaret hollyhock thrives in bright, warm exposures and can tolerate light shade in southern regions. It is not afraid of cold or heat. With slow growth, this hibiscus requires no maintenance and grows steadily.

To fully enjoy its abundant flowering, plant it in a sheltered spot away from strong winds, in soil that remains moist until the end of summer. This beautiful new plant can be used as a hedge or as a standalone young plant. Its small size makes it suitable for cultivation in large pots to fully appreciate its flowers.

Planting and care

Plant Hibiscus syriacus French Cabaret® in a sunny location in well-drained but fertile soil. Dig a deep planting hole and add some compost and sand to your garden soil to improve soil quality if needed. Water generously after planting. Pruning takes place at the end of winter and should be hard to promote abundant flowering: cut back to 3 to 5 buds above the ground. Always choose to cut above an eye facing outward.
