Description
Hydrangea paniculata 'Little Lime' is a compact novelty, with beautiful lime green panicles.
This new variety could be described as the lilliputian version of the Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight'. With a height of only 1.20m, this hydrangea forms a stout bush as tall as it is wide.
Of medium size, its panicles are composed of petals that are initially green, gradually turning white and then pale pink as they fade. From August to October, it is covered with panicles of 20cm (7.9in) in length.
The flowering attracts butterflies. The panicles are borne on short, thick and very rigid branches. Hydrangea paniculata has deciduous, dark green foliage that turns red in autumn.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Little Lime' therefore integrates perfectly on terraces and balconies, but can also be planted along borders with the Echinacea 'Green Jewel', the Eupatorium rugosum 'Braunlaub' or the Heuchera 'Lime Rickey'.
Vigorous and robust, it has good hardiness and requires sunlight and water to flower properly.

Planting and care
When planting, install your Hydrangea paiculata 'Little Lime' in deeply worked soil. A good base fertilizer (horn or dehydrated blood) will promote the establishment of your plant and nourish it without the risk of burning. Hydrangea paniculata prefers humus-bearing soils but tolerates less fertile soils and drought more easily. If your soil tends to be dry, mix our water retainer, stockosorb, with the soil when filling the planting hole and provide a watering basin on the surface. Their spring vegetation is quite late. Water frequently during flowering, while avoiding direct watering of the foliage and flowers. At the end of summer, we recommend not cutting the dry umbels, as they will protect the terminal shoots of the branches in winter. Cut all the dry flowers at the end of February or at the first signs of good weather. Paniculata hydrangeas require vigorous pruning to develop large inflorescences.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
