Kerria japonica Picta - Japanese Rose

Kerria japonica Picta, also known as the Japanese rose, is a small bush that will brighten up your garden with its variegated foliage and lemon-yellow flowering. Particularly hardy and extremely floriferous, it is covered with a myriad of lemon-yellow pompoms from the arrival of spring.

The Kerria japonica 'Picta' belongs to the Rosaceae family and comes from Asia (China and Japan). Its rapid and vigorous growth allows it to quickly reach its adult size, which does not exceed 1 to 1.50 meters (3 feet 4 inches to 4 feet 11 inches) in height. It thus constitutes a decorative bush of modest dimensions, which are ideal for small gardens or patios, associated as a charming flowering hedge or in a flowerbed.

The Japanese rose Picta is a remarkable accent plant thanks to its upright silhouette, flexible and elegant vegetation, and sparkling flowering. Its slender stems bear oval, dentate leaves of mint-green, edged with cream, measuring 3 cm (1.2 in) long. Graceful, small, single yellow flowers of about 3 to 5 cm (1.2 to 2 in) appear in April and May, and sometimes again in autumn.
