A selection of Dwarf Lagerstroemia or Indian Lilac. These are small varieties, measuring less than 1.50 m (5ft) in height, perfectly suited to small gardens and container gardening. Lagerstroemia is a bush appreciated for its beautiful summer flowering, often pink, and deciduous foliage, which takes on beautiful shades in autumn. It is also appreciated for its decorative bark, marbled with varying tones. While larger Summer Lilacs are true small trees that can reach up to 9 m (29ft) in height, there are also miniature varieties such as Lagerstroemia indica 'Dwarf Red', 'Red Terrace' or 'Petite Orchid'. They are perfect for small gardens or to add colour to a sunny terrace. To grow them in a pot, it is important to choose a large volume container or pot, in order to give them enough space to develop properly. You can then place the pot on a terrace or in an inner courtyard, in full sun! For flowering, the colour palette ranges from white to red, passing through mauves and violet tones. New dwarf selections, including the Black Diamond series ('Black Solitaire'), also have extremely decorative dark leaves. Here, we present dwarf lagerstroemias that are suitable for container gardening!
