The bush I received didn't have a very pretty habit, but I arranged it well by planting it, and it took well. The leaves are a beautiful purple and it's growing quite fast. The flowers are very delicate. I love it!

Description
Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum 'Fire Dance' is a bushy shrub resembling witch hazel with its spider-like, strip-shaped flowers, grouped in 3 or 6. This variety has pink flowering. The fuchsia tone of the flowers bursts with contrast in February against its semi-evergreen dark green foliage with young purplish stems. The flowers have a light fragrance.
The oval-shaped leaves are slightly rough. They are a deep reddish-purple when they first open, before possibly turning a medium green.
Be careful to protect it from heavy frosts, as it is only moderately hardy, down to -8° C (17.6° F). You can grow it in pots in cold regions and store it indoors during winter.
Its bushy form and almost evergreen foliage make it suitable for use as a free hedge.
Originally from the forests of the Himalayas, it prefers acidic soil.

Planting and care
Plant in partial shade or shade, in moist soil. 'Fire Dance' is relatively tolerant of soil content. It prefers slightly acidic soil but can tolerate slightly chalky soils. It does not appreciate excessive water. Therefore, it requires good drainage. Add compost to the garden soil, and possibly some sand to lighten it. This bushy shrub reaches a size equivalent to its height, 2 m (6.6 ft) at maturity: make sure to provide it with enough space when planting. If growing in a pot, choose a large container and ensure you place gravel or shards at the bottom for drainage.
