Description

Easy to grow, the Potentilla fruticosa 'Pink Paradise' forms a small compact bush covered in late spring with an abundance of pale pink flowers until the end of summer.

A bushy variety, the Potentilla fruticosa 'Pink Paradise' is a small shrub with modest dimensions, 1.20m (3ft 11in) in height and 80cm (31.5in) in width. It flowers from the month of June until the end of summer. The flowers measure 3 to 4cm (1.6in) in diameter, similar to strawberry flowers, they are very rounded and pale pink with a cluster of golden stamens in the centre. Abundant in late spring, the flowering can be slowed down during the hot summer temperatures. The flowers stand out distinctly from its beautiful dark green foliage.

A Hardy bush and very easy to grow, the Potentilla fruticosa has great adaptability; it grows in the sun or partial shade, likes well-drained soil and can tolerate heavy soils that are not waterlogged, poor or rich.

Due to its great tolerance, the 'Pink Paradise' Potentilla will grow almost anywhere; along a pathway or in a flower bed, on a slope, at the base of a hedge or simply on a terrace in a pot. It pairs well with Achillea millefolium 'Lilac Beauty', Allium 'Globemaster', Symphoricarpos 'Magical Candy' and perennial Geranium 'Dragon Heart'. With a compact habit, it requires no maintenance other than pruning the faded flowers with shears at the end of winter.
