Yellow flowering bushy Sage

A selection of bushy Salvias with yellow flowers. These are hardy perennial bushy plants that are very floriferous from spring to autumn and are derived from Salvia greggii, S. grahamii, or Salvia x jamensis. In this category, you can find lovely varieties such as 'Suncrest Lemon Light', with a soft and pure lemon yellow colour, but also 'Melen' with creamy yellow flowers subtly tinged with orange and dark bracts, or the selection 'La Luna' with a very pale yellow colour washed with a hint of pink. These salvias form small bushes ranging from 50cm (20in) to 80cm (32in) in all directions, and they bear small aromatic green leaves that persist more or less in winter. In the garden, yellow naturally pairs well with orange and red, but it forms a very vibrant contrast with blue. Pale yellow is beautiful with mauve. Bushy salvias are water-efficient, not demanding in terms of soil, and require little maintenance apart from light pruning in spring. More or less hardy depending on the variety, these small bushes are easily cultivated in pots and can be stored indoors during severe frosts.
