Description

Weigela Nain Rouge (Courtanin) is a very unique shrub with a very compact habit and bright red flowers.

This medium-sized shrub with moderate growth is highly appreciated for its compact and dwarf habit for the variety, which does not exceed 1 m (3 ft) in height and spread.

Its deciduous foliage is elongated and undulate and very attractive in autumn with its bright red colour. The flowers appear during the months of May and June on the tips of the branches. They have prominent stigmas, as well as white stamens contrasting with the red colour of the petals.

This surprising shrub can be grown in a (large) pot, or in borders in combination with perennials or other low-growing shrubs.
