Description
Weigela Nain Rouge (Courtanin) is a very unique shrub with a very compact habit and bright red flowers.
This medium-sized shrub with moderate growth is highly appreciated for its compact and dwarf habit for the variety, which does not exceed 1 m (3 ft) in height and spread.
Its deciduous foliage is elongated and undulate and very attractive in autumn with its bright red colour. The flowers appear during the months of May and June on the tips of the branches. They have prominent stigmas, as well as white stamens contrasting with the red colour of the petals.
This surprising shrub can be grown in a (large) pot, or in borders in combination with perennials or other low-growing shrubs.

This hardy plant adapts to all types of soil that are well-drained and moist, and appreciates sunny or slightly shaded exposures. Pruning is recommended after flowering for maintenance. This surprising shrub can be grown in a large pot or in flower beds in combination with perennials or other low-growing shrubs.
