LDPE 50 micron Climafilm 1.20 x 3.50 m Forcing Tunnel Kit

This CLIMAFILM kit consists of all the elements necessary to erect a 3.50 m long by 1.20 m wide forcing tunnel. This method of cultivation encourages the accelerated growth of vegetable plants and early harvesting. Made of transparent polythene treated with UV protection, it can be reused for several years.

It consists of:

- 1 early forcing film 2 m x 5 m.
- 1 perforated growth film with 500 holes 2 x 5 m.
- 7 PVC hoops, 2 end stakes, and elastic wires.

This growth tunnel should be installed in the sun and sheltered from the wind, on well-prepared and levelled soil. The early forcing film is made of transparent polythene with a thickness of 50 microns. At the beginning of the season, this will encourage accelerated germination and growth of vegetable plants. Thanks to this film, the heat accumulated during the day, mainly at ground level, will be released to the seeds or plants during the night. Replace it with the perforated growth film with a thickness of 40 microns, which is lighter, as soon as the sun becomes stronger and the vegetables are slightly more developed. This perforated film will allow excess heat and moisture released by the plants' respiration to be released while accelerating flowering and fruit ripening. This ventilation system will prevent sun scorch and moisture-related diseases. Treated with UV protection for better resistance to the sun and weather, these two films can be reused for several years.

Sowing and cultivation of frost-sensitive plants can be done very early in the spring (earlier or later, depending on the region) as long as you have a forcing tunnel. This very simple device will promote harvesting earlier in the season, as well as over a longer period. This method of cultivation is suitable for sowing carrots, lettuce, radishes, as well as growing leeks, turnips, chard, strawberries... Remember to water and ventilate your tunnel from time to time.
