Jute is a material that comes directly from the rigid and fibrous stems of a bush called white jute, in Latin Corchorus capsularis. It is a plant from the mallow family, related to our Hibiscus, native to the hot and humid regions of India. This La Cordeline string is made from raw, untreated fibre, simply woven and dyed using natural pigments. Resistant, the jute string can be reused several times before starting to degrade. The appearance of this string is rustic, slightly fluffy on the surface, while maintaining interesting flexibility. It can be easily cut with a pair of scissors, a sharp knife, or a cutter. Compostable, jute degrades naturally without leaving any residues in the environment.
