This 100% bleached linen ball of string placed on an elegant beech wood stand serves as a dispenser and is both a decorative and highly practical accessory that will prove indispensable in the garden or around the house. The linen string unravels easily, without knotting, and can be cut with ease to the desired length. Made from a strong and natural plant fibre, this string can be used in various ways in the garden, such as tying in, training, or staking plants, as well as for interior decoration or crafts.
This accessory set includes:
- a 200g ball of fine, bleached linen thread, in an off-white colour, with a diameter of 1mm (0in) and a length of approximately 200m (656ft).
- a natural beech wood dispenser, 18cm (7in) in height, with a circular base measuring 10cm (4in) in diameter.
Linen is a material derived directly from the beautiful flax plant, cultivated since ancient times for its many qualities, which are now being rediscovered. In addition to their legendary strength, linen fibres are appreciated for their length, fineness, and natural, rustic feel. Linen string is biodegradable, has high mechanical resistance, is difficult to burn, and withstands abrasion and humidity. To make this string, several linen threads are assembled and then twisted in the opposite direction to the original twist of each thread. Bleached but not dyed or polished, this 100% bleached linen string from La Cordeline has an off-white colour and a slightly rough texture, resulting in a beautiful rustic appearance.
It can be used in a wide range of areas, depending on individual needs and desires: in the garden, in floral art, in crafts, for DIY projects, in decoration, for packaging, for creative hobbies (crochet, knitting, macramé), for sewing durable seams, as well as in upholstery. It can be cut with scissors, a sharp knife or a cutter.
The linen string placed on the dispenser will always be within reach, whether in the kitchen or in the garden shed. It can be used in the vegetable garden to stake tomatoes, climbing beans, cucumbers and raspberry canes, or to align a row of vegetable seeds or seedlings. In the ornamental garden, it can be used to tie up an unruly rambling rose branch, or in the orchard to support a branch heavy with fruit, for example, as it holds securely without damaging delicate stems. It is also very beautiful for tying a bouquet of garden flowers as a gift or embellishing a wrapped-up gift. For artists, this flexible thread can be knitted, crocheted, knotted, and woven in macramé, and it adds a natural touch to scrapbooking and decorative objects.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
