Jute is a material that comes directly from the rigid, fibrous stems of a bush called white jute, scientifically known as Corchorus capsularis. It is a plant belonging to the malvaceae family, related to our hibiscus roses, native to the hot and humid regions of India. This Cordeline string is made from raw, untreated fiber, simply woven, and then coloured using pigments as necessary. The jute string is resistant and can be reused multiple times before starting to degrade. It has a rustic appearance, slightly fuzzy on the surface, while maintaining flexibility. It can be easily cut with a pair of scissors, a sharp knife, or a cutter. Compostable, jute naturally decomposes without leaving any residue in the environment.
