This geotextile felt not only stabilises the soil of paths and terraces but also prevents the soil and the gravel from mixing. Position it between the soil and the gravel. It is rot-resistant with a lifespan of over 10 years. Grey colour. Sold in a 25 m (82ft) x 1 m (3ft) roll.

The GEOTEX geotextile fabric is the ideal solution for stabilising the soil in pathways and terraces, as well as preventing garden soil and gravel surfacing from mixing. It is made from a non-rotting material and its lifespan is over 10 years. Available in a 1m (3ft) wide by 25m (82ft) long roll, it can be easily cut with a good pair of scissors to suit your needs.

This grey geotextile fabric is made from non-woven polyester (thermo-bonded polyester fibres) with a density of 100g/m². When creating a pathway, it should be positioned between the soil and the gravel. Geotex is permeable to water, but non-rotting and highly resistant, so it can remain in the soil for many years without damage. Its texture is dense enough to prevent perforations and it prevents garden soil from mixing with gravel, chippings, slate, or pumice, for example. Once installed, this fabric improves load-bearing capacity, acts as a filter, stabilises the soil, and prevents drains from clogging. The Geotex fabric can be buried and covered. When positioned within a layer of sand, for example when creating a pathway, it prevents weeds from re-establishing and resurfacing through the mineral mulch.

Detailed features

Directions for use C Geotextile fabric is used when creating a driveway, terrace, pond, or when installing drains. Creating a driveway or terrace: place it on perfectly clean and level ground, then cover it with a good thickness of gravel, limestone, slate, bark, or volcanic rock, for example. If you install a layer of sand, place the geotextile within the thickness of this layer of sand, under the surface material: it will prevent weeds from re-establishing and resurfacing through the mineral mulch. Creating a pond: the fabric should line the walls and the bottom of the structure. The waterproof liner will be placed on top. Installing a drainage system as part of excavation and construction work: once the trench is dug, a layer of gravel is laid, followed by the geotextile, and then the PVC pipe. The geotextile will cover this PVC pipe, and then the trench will be backfilled with soil.
