This Nortene BLOCK-R anti-root felt provides an effective barrier to contain tree roots and the spread of bamboo rhizomes. The resistance of this material, as well as its height, make it impassable by colonising roots. This 0.60m high and 3.50m long barrier, is suitable for enclosing a small clump of trailing bamboo or for keeping a sucker-forming tree or shrub in isolation. It protects your other plantings, as well as ducts, cables, foundations, paving, ornamental ponds, swimming pools...

Ideal for containing the invasion of bamboo rhizomes or the wandering roots of certain trees that can become very invasive, this anti-rhizome barrier is also suitable for guiding roots to the desired location for their development. The black STOP R felt is coated on one side (smooth side). This should always be positioned facing the roots. Made of polythene terephthalate, better known as PET, it is a very resistant material, unaffected by heat or humidity, with a long lifespan. It guides rhizomes and roots towards the surface of the soil within the delimited area: any rhizome encountering this obstacle will change its growth upwards. Once emerged, these 'undesirables' can be pruned and removed to prevent them from crossing the barrier.

Installation of an anti-rhizome barrier:

- Dig a deep enough planting hole (45-50 cm deep) or a trench of equivalent depth to position the barrier.

- Bury the barrier at a 15° angle from the vertical, with the smooth side facing the roots, leaving it protruding 5 to 10cm above the surface of the soil.

- Do not place a barrier at the bottom of the planting area.

- Securely attach or overlap the edges of the circle formed so that roots and rhizomes cannot infiltrate the smallest space.

- Add some soil outside of this barrier for aesthetic reasons, to hide the part that emerges from the ground.
